While I was there, a man residing in the camp approached me as I was photographing and asked if I could take his picture. Adam and I had a brief conversation in Arabic during which he claimed to be from Gaza.

(Note: In my post on Instagram, I was asked why I said Adam “claimed” to be from Gaza. While working with refugees and migrants in Bosnia, I found that some of the men talked to claimed to be from refugees from countries such as Palestine. However, susbequently they were identified to be from other countries like Morocco, likely making then economic migrants rather than refugees. It is not my intention to cast doubt on Adam’s claim but to indicate I was not able to verify it.)
